Tips for successful date this coming February 14

Modern dating is not an exact science. What works for one woman may not work for another. In fact, the dating rules have greatly changed through the years that it’s almost impossible to know how women will react to your moves.

But fear not, my friend. Even though today’s dating styles and techniques are unpredictable like a modern mystery, there are still some universal truths that continue to hold their ground to this day. To help you get your dream date, here are some simple rules to follow:

Pay attention to your date. You’re dating her because you want to be with her so don’t ignore her. Show some respect by listening to her. You may not always understand what she’s talking about but listen just the same. Believe it or not, listening makes you interesting to your date even if you don’t say a word. When your date talks, be a good listener, ask questions if needed and you’ll be surprised how far this will get you.Talk to her eyes. When talking or listening to your date, always maintain eye contact. This reinforces your role as a listener and will make you more interesting. But don’t stare at her like a wild animal eyeing its prey. Don’t look at her like a pervert either. An idiotic or confused look will get you nowhere. This is rude and will certainly turn her off.

Plan ahead. Since you invited her, you should be prepared for that event. Don’t tell your date you don’t know where to go or what to do. Worse, don’t ask her what she wants to do. This will only tell her that you’re an amateur and you’re wasting her time. Decide on what to do beforehand and implement your plan. If, for some reason, things don’t turn out right and your plan doesn’t work, be open to suggestions but never give her the impression that you’re too lazy to do something nice for her.

Make it public. Your first date should be done in a public place for you and your partner’s safety. Reserve the one-on-one encounters when you know each other better. Going to a public place is good since it provides you with some distractions that you can later use for conversation if you feel you have nothing more to say.

Be prepared to pay. Who pays the bill is a common source of confusion between people who date. While it is common knowledge that the person who initiated the date should foot the bill, it’s okay to offer to “go Dutch” and split the bill. If your date insists on paying, let her do so but tell her you’re paying the next time. Don’t ever show up on a date without a single cent unless you want to be the laughing stock of her circle of friends.

Be a knight. You don’t have to fight for her love but always be a gentleman. Those little acts of kindness like opening the door for her, pulling out a chair for your date and taking her home will go a long way in cementing your relationship.

Hope you all have a successful date this coming Valentines Day! As for me, my husband is always on my side day and night and every day is a Valentines Day for us. Goodluck!
